Yellow Wall-paper

I believe I portrayed the feelings of the woman in the story because of many things. For one, the stocking is alone on the mantel and unable to be "free" from hanging, like the others on the ground. This resembles the woman being trapped in her room, unable to see anyone or do what she wanted. The hangers in this image are strong, symbolizing the husbands power to keep his wife away from public because of her "nervous habits". I added in a dark gradient to make the image have the eerie/gloomy essence because that was how I felt after reading the story. And finally, the lighting and green on top of the mantel symbolize the beauty she lived in. The stone on the fireplace resembles the movement and texture the woman saw in the paper.
